Kauai Dentist: Keeping Kid’s Teeth Healthy During Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner, and as responsible parents, you should know what that means- lots of candy, and possibly lots of tooth decay and dental problems! Our Kauai dentist gets a bit scared when Halloween comes around. After all, the free candy up for grabs is more than enough, and with the way candy companies have been developing new products, then you can expect the sugar content in those goodies to be sky high! Kauai Dentists have a good reason to be concerned about Halloween related tooth decay- every year there are more and more reports of lost fillings and broken braces. As parents, you should be concerned too. These dental procedures can make a serious dent in your pocket, and are affecting your children’s health. If you want to make this Halloween a different one, then these tips are worth looking at!

1. You need to monitor what chocolate your boy or daughter eats- your boy or daughter might be too youthful to understand what he's buying and selling within the mouth, however, you aren’t. If you see that he's consuming lots of sugar formerly, stop him. Cause him to prevent lack of fluids, in addition to, cause him to clean his teeth too.

2. Monitor how long our child puts the candy in his mouth- Did you know that candy is supposed to be eaten quickly? The longer it stays inside the mouth, the more harmful it is to the teeth, because the sugar stays to coat the teeth, and encourages tooth decay. If you see your child lingering over his candy, do say something about it.

3. Make sure your child brushes his teeth very well after his candy consumption- Most children don’t know how to brush their teeth properly. Therefore, you need to be there to show them how. Make sure they tackle every part well. You may even invest in an electric toothbrush for them, so that they get a more vigorous brushing and cleaning.

We're not stating that you simply confiscate all chocolate out of your child. Ultimately, Halloween may be less fun without them. Together with your guidance and help, it might nonetheless be achievable for that boy or daughter to have Halloween while remaining from cavities along with other dental problems too!
